Steps to repair your dyson

Motor Not Working

Motor Not Working

If your Dyson vacuum motor has stopped working and is no longer under warranty, it might be time to replace it. The machine
may require a Clean Vac Dyson Service vacuum repair.

Fix Your Dyson

How to Fix Common Dyson Vacuum Issues

Replacing the Battery

If your Dyson only runs for a short time after charging, the issue might be the battery, not the entire vacuum. Dyson handstick batteries typically last about three years. Replacing the battery—rather than buying a whole new vacuum—can save you hundreds of dollars.

Steps to Replace the Battery:

  1. Unplug the vacuum from the charger.
  2. Remove the two screws from the rear of the handle and three screws from the underside of the battery.
  3. Take out the old battery.
  4. Insert the new battery.
  5. Secure it using the same screws.

Cleaning or Replacing Filters

A faulty motor often results from clogged filters. In some cases, cleaning the filters may solve the issue. Dyson recommends washing the filters every month, but they should be replaced if cleaning doesn’t help.

Steps to Clean the Filters:

  1. Ensure the vacuum is off and unplugged.
  2. Remove the pre-filter by lifting it from the top of the vacuum.
  3. To remove the post-filter, rotate it counterclockwise until the black dots align, then pull it off.
  4. Wash both filters under cold water (don’t use soap or cleaning agents).
  5. Let the filters dry for at least 24 hours before reinstalling them.

Clearing Blockages

Dyson vacuums automatically shut off if they detect a blockage. To clear it, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the vacuum from the charger.
  2. Check each part of the vacuum for blockages and remove any debris.
  3. To access blockages in the floor tool, remove the base plate by turning the screw with a coin.
  4. Remove the brush bars if necessary to clear blockages.

Remember to always use a dry cloth to clean the vacuum; avoid using lubricants, cleaning agents, or polishes.

Cleaning the Floor Tools

The floor head on Dyson vacuums has two brush bars that can get clogged with debris. Regular cleaning of these brush bars is essential to maintain suction power.

Steps to Clean the Brush Bars:

  1. Disconnect the vacuum from the charger.
  2. Unlock the fastener using a coin and remove the large brush bar.
  3. Remove debris from the brush bar and wash it under running water.
  4. Clean the smaller brush bar in the same way.
  5. Let both bars dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling them.

The Bottom Line

Instead of replacing your Dyson vacuum when it experiences issues, consider trying these fixes first. With stick vacuums, many parts are replaceable, so you can often repair them instead of buying a new one.

Fixing your vacuum not only saves you money but also extends its lifespan, giving you more value for your investment. While you may not be able to solve every issue, replacing parts like the battery, filters, or brush bars can often give your vacuum a second life. We
would recommend a Clean Vac Dyson Service vacuum repair.

Robot Vacuum Not Turning On

If your Robot Vacuum doesn’t turn on when you press the power button or doesn’t move, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check the Power Switch

Make sure the red power switch inside the filter compartment is in the "On" position.

2. Verify Charging Status

Ensure that the Robot Vacuum is correctly docked and that the charging station is
plugged in. Wipe the metal charging plates on both the docking station and the
bottom of the Robot Vacuum to ensure proper contact using a dry cloth.

3. Battery Issues

If the Robot Vacuum still doesn’t turn on, the battery might be faulty. You may
need to replace the battery. Please call us for a Quote

Robot Vacuum
Spinning in Circles

If your Robot Vacuum is only moving in circles, try these steps:

1. Check for Jammed Wheels

Hair or debris might be wrapped around the wheels. Clean the wheels using scissors
or a brush to remove any obstructions.

2. Wheel Motor Failure

While the Deebot is running, flip it upside down and see if both wheels are spinning.
If one isn’t moving, the wheel motor could be faulty and may need to be
replaced.

3. Inspect the Front Bumper

If the wheels are working fine, check if the front bumper is stuck. Press the
bumper in and ensure it pops back out. If not, the bumper might need cleaning
or replacement.

4. Clean the Drop Sensors

Dirty anti-drop sensors can cause the Deebot to behave as if there’s an obstacle.
Clean all 5 sensors with a dry cloth to ensure proper functionality. If this still doesn't work they may need replacing.

Robot Vacuum On but Not Moving

If your Robot Vacuum turns on but doesn’t move, follow these steps:

1. Look for Jammed Wheels

Check if hair or debris is wrapped around the wheels. Clear any blockages with
scissors or a brush.

2. Check Wheel Motors

Flip the Vacuum upside down and see if both wheels spin when the Robot Vacuum is
running. If neither is moving, the wheel motors may need to be replaced.

3. Motherboard Damage

If the motors and wheels are fine, the motherboard may be damaged, possibly from
vacuuming liquids. In this case, the motherboard will need to be replaced.

Robot Vacuum Not Working

If the vacuum function isn’t working but the Robot Vacuum is running, try these
steps:

1. Empty the Dust Bin

Check if the dust bin is full and empty it.

2. Clear Vacuum Blockages

Check if large debris is blocking the vacuum. Remove the filter and clear any
blockages in the dust bin entrance.

3. Check for a Broken Vacuum Seal

Inspect the vacuum’s casing for cracks. Seal any cracks with duct tape to restore the
vacuum’s suction.

4. Vacuum Motor Failure

If the vacuum motor isn’t running, it may need to be replaced.

Brushes Not Spinning

If the brushes aren’t spinning, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Remove Hair or Debris from Brushes

Check if hair or debris is tangled in the brushes. Remove them using scissors or a
brush.

2. Check the Brush Motors

Turn the Vacuum upside down while it’s running to check if both brush motors are working. If one or both brushes aren’t spinning, the brush motors may need to be replaced. The machine may require a Clean Vac vacuum service vacuum repair.
